I think the people that travel that distance and have the money to do this activity are the entitled types in their countries of origin. And yes, including the US where the average person does not have $400.00 for an emergency. This being said, don't they pride themselves to have a bit better education and moral compass to know better than to leave garbage all over the place?

People need to relieve themselves and most will not do the right thing (collect their own waste) unless compelled to do so. The problem is also with the government that is probably greedy and wants the revenues from exploiting this natural resource. Making laws is not enough. There has to be enforcement, too. Greed, like all matters immoral, stinks.
