I have heard from foreigners who have been to NE India praising the people sky high. They told me that they will come back to India to be in North Eastern States. Anyway India is comparatively a too big country for tourists .Tourism is based on entertainment. I am amazed by Alcazar Cabaret show in Pattaya I don't think India has such a fantastic show. The Indian politicians are unconcerned about tourism development. Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philipines, SriLanka and Indonesia are competing with each other to get more tourists to their countries. There is true professional approach to tourism than India.

(Buses are terrifying, in general to one not used to the roads of India with constant, last-minute swerving to avoid cattle, potholes and ravines, bikes, tuk-tuks, trucks and other vehicles.)
If you can get your train tickets online you can look forward to a pretty chaotic boarding experience. It’s a massive population and lots of those people use the trains.
