I read a post on Reddit about a woman whose 3 year old drowned. It happened so fast that she was still chewing the brownie they’d been sharing when she walked outside and saw him at the bottom of the pool. Drowning happens so incredibly fast.

My Dad told me a story about a friend of his that has since passed. The friend spent years living in Thailand part time when they were younger. As someone who was there in person for the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004, I now know this. I didn’t at the time and like MANY others I just stood in complete bewilderment as the ocean suddenly receded half way to the horizon. To this day it was the most amazing, dumbfounding and eerie thing I’ve ever seen. Needless to say I got lucky to be able to tell the tale.
