It's more expensive than most places so answer totally depends on your income after tax and the number of dependants on that income.
If you compare UK to India:
The main value you will get in UK is peaceful living. It is clean, safe, green, a lot less stressful compared to India, has really good schools, has a very good work life balance.

You will find your Indian counterparts settling seamlessly in life while you are struggling to do that in UK. At 30, your Indian friends would own a car, own a house, either start a marriage (or) already be married thinking of their first or second child, afford resort stays and travels (domestic or international or both), have a job at hand which they will constantly debate whether to keep or move on… you on the other hand would be way behind that economic curve unless your take-home salary after tax is sufficient for the number of dependents of that salary. (Not to mention student debt).

You won’t like the UK quickly. Plain and simple as that.

The reason again boils down to just one:- Your take home salary after tax is much lower than almost any other country and the hefty sum you pay for the quality of housing in the UK is just unfair. 3/4th of your salary goes to housing, bills and route to citizenship* with ease. It’s a big deal if you can save anything more for your retirement/old age.

Once you are past enjoying the flair of the English language/humour and the cheap food, UK will swoop low on that list of “ideal foreign countries for a young first generation Indian immigrant”. Its one of those countries which is great to visit but lousy to live in permanently. If you have found love, friendship or something meaningful for you to be living for in the UK then obviously everything is worth it. It is solely personal drive that chariots us forward.
*route to citizenship is defined by the amount of money you pay to UKVI - things like visas, health surcharge, indefinite leave to remain (ILR) permit and cost of acquiring a British passport upon naturalisation.

PROS:
Less traffic compared to India (you wont notice if you are from a town or less populated city in India)
Cleaner Air and less pollution compared to Indian metro cities (Indian villages and towns have cleaner air).
Free education until class 12 according to India.
Work-Life balance is valued more here

Very high taxes , they drain you off them.
Crippled healthcare system (NHS) , I had 6 months waiting time and had to travel back to India to get my treatment done . They say it is free but NHS is crap !!
Less salaries and very high cost of living!
Inflation is real bad.
Higher education is very expensive .
Food is yuck
Depressing and dull weather most of the times !
British houses are cramped and not as organised and free as Indian houses or flats.
Rent is high in most places , now it must be even higher!
A very boring country , not many tourist attractions. All they have is lawns and rocky beaches. Dont expect it be as diverse and beautiful as India is !! UK is nature depleted and not beautiful.

UK is not an option for personal finance , it is a bad choice . You will save less .
The infrastructure is not that great here , there a lot of potholes on the road here too . I feel the new Indian infrastructure outclasses UK anytime like new expressways.

I personally suggest look for a better option like US etc. or stay back in India.
There is nothing luxurious and different about UK , I feel I could have used my time better in India but had no choice due to my contract.
However , UK is a good country and offers high quality of life . It is just that it is a boring and dull country with not a bright future and average infrastructure and the life here dosen’t suit me!

Is the U.K. a good place to settle down for an Indian?
During my years in England, I gained the impression that the UK wouldn’t be what it is without Indians.
If there is one natural home for Indians outside India, I really believe it is the UK. I had so many Indian colleagues and students, and it was so normal to see Indians and hear Indian English spoken, or Indian food served, that it’s simply part of the UK experience for me that there will be Indians there.
It’s not just me, either.
The official national dish is now Chicken Tikka Masala. What does that say about Indians being welcome in the UK?

I am moving to the UK from Bengaluru this month. Friends say I would settle there while my plan is to stay there for 3 years. How do I ensure I come back and not feel like settling there?
I can give you certain points that might help you.
TL, DR - Do not make any commitments abroad when you are living there. But make a commitment to yourself that you are going to come back.

Keep telling it yourself every week that you are going back home on ‘this’ month of ‘this’ year. Many people do this statement in the beginning when they move to another country. They don’t forget it, but they add clauses to it. Ex: after I make $$ saving, or after I build a house in Bengaluru etc. These clauses keep on growing every year and they will never be able to go back. So do not add clauses but just keep the statement as simple as it is in the beginning. ‘I am going back home on ‘this’ month of ‘this’ year’

If you plan to return after X years, the main thing that makes you to postpone this plan is the thought of current salary, standard of living, the need to look for a job with a very good salary to maintain the standard of living / expenses. the only way is to save enough money when you go abroad for work. Invest a certain amount of your income every month and commit to a plan that you will save a specific amount Ex: Half a Million Dollar? or 2 years of your salary (at abroad). Making such committed plans on savings is the only way to make you comfortable on your return plan.

Credit cards are good, they give wonderful cashback and carry offers with them. But credit cards / loans (abroad) are the one’s that pulls you to stay with them more. Once you have gotten a credit card or a loan you are bound to use it every month and when you pay them next month you are paying for last months expenses. This makes that you are always in a debt. Regarding the loans, short term loans (strictly less than a year) are good. They are good because of a low interest rate, but never go for a loan above a year even if the interest rate is 0. I would still suggest no loans and no credit cards. Live on your salary minus savings.

Tell your spouse and kids or your closest people that you are planning to return after X years, also tell them about your saving plan for your return. Most of the times the close family (spouse, kids, parents, siblings) would be thinking that you are going to stay there for more years and they make different plans. Ex: Kids schooling in abroad. Getting a new loan, House, Car etc. These plans always come with a expenses, and you will be bound to go with their plan as it brings happiness to them. But after some time, you will be clearing these expenses (point 3) and that will decrease your savings (point 2), which in turn makes you to add a clause in your return plan (point 1).

Plan about what will you be doing once you have come back after X years. Plan it very carefully. This plan needs to be revisited every month.
Going to find a new job with your upgraded skill, what will be your salary expectation, what if you don’t get a job immediately.
Comfortable in sitting back home for a year while searching for new job? Able to manage your expenses with the same standard of living and no income?
Can you start your own business. If so you need to plan for this at least a year before your return.
Answer this question on ‘what will you do after your return’ with a certainty and plan it very well.

When you are staying abroad, you will be going to find an apartment, broadband connection, Utilities, mobile connection etc. When you sign up for them, make sure that you are not going for a long term contracts. Always check whether the contract is going to end before your return date. Every one goes for a postpaid telco plans or 2/3 year apartment contracts because they look much cheaper than going for prepaid. I agree they are good, but the point is you cannot break any contract (unless you pay heavily for it). Go for prepaid wherever there is an option (even though it is expensive than postpaid) and make all contracts renewable for 1 years. If the job is a contract based offer, even that also needs to be considered.
不要签订长期合同
