Now i am having an amazing research based job that i enjoy without falling into the bullshit rat race that our country has put us into and as an avg middle class guy.

See try to be in any parents shoes. Before that try to calculate are humans always correct in what they desire? Are they always correct in knowing they are good in something? Are they always satisfied after achieving the success they wanted?

Similarly society is not always toxic, they teach some of the right things, so many comments i see about artists being forced into engineering not knowing the fact that people will pay first for a sweeper more than an average art piece, those inside artists might be in a slight delusion that they can take in money like Banksy or some top artist, yet an average engineer has a fixed salary proven no need to be brilliant etc.

Many people need logos or branding, to make things look pretty or just want pretty things because our sworld has progressed to the extent that we can afford to have such “useless” interests. You are talikng about people around you, who probably don't have money to spend on such things. Regardless, they are still buying art. Otherwise we would all be living in plain brick houses and the have plainest furniture possible.

Your father must be holding a very boring stress inducing traditional job to give you that internet connection that you enjoy. That's appreciable. Indians aren't wrong about traditional hard core boring degrees and the financial stability and proven career path they withold.

Human nature was never sure and forever doubtful, parents and society not encouraging self ascertained beliefs and dreams is the part of life. In a developing economy where govt doesn't pay you minimal money for existing, parents arent wrong though.

Anyway my point isn't to argue, what I want to point out is every concept has wrongs and rights, traditional ideologies can be definitely toxic but understanding our parents generation they had to stick to hardcore and tough traditional rules, it's only because of their hard work out current society can even think of acknowledging people would want to go to a psychologist.

Thats because a BTech person has more job opportunities. Either he can join their technical field or general field. General stream guy can’t go into technical field without specific course after graduation. Then another issue is overpopulation and less job postings due to which more people are recruited in poor salaries to get more revenue for the company. Surely a demand and supply gap working here.
