If Vietnam is “more famous than Indonesia”, just because of its war with US. Anyway, as a Vietnamese, I don’t think Vietnam is more famous than Indonesia. Indonesia is really a “big brother” in South East Asia. I admire with what Indonesia has in the field of military industry

Mostly International Airport from abroad arrived in Jakarta. That's why you just need to explore cities around Java to make it cheaper. Bandung, Jogjakarta will be efficient to travel from Jakarta. Except if you straightly arrived in Makassar from abroad, you can travel around Sulawesi, if you arrived in Balikpapan Airport, then you can travel around East Kalimantan. Another option is your flight straightly arrived in Denpasar, so you can travel around Bali and even Lombok.
