中国论坛有一种我经常看见的比较普遍的观点，让那里的很多粉丝会主动在国际比赛里为西方国家加油——他们觉得如果欧美赛区和中韩赛区的差距越来越大的话，那么国际电竞体育联赛的生态环境就会彻底崩溃，毕竟欧盟和北美的粉丝就会失去兴趣。
所以我只是出于好奇想要问问这里的兄弟们，这种说法背后有没有道理？如果LEC和LCS在世界赛上被血虐，那么你会觉得以后再也不用再看英雄联盟比赛了吗？
It absolutely is true I’ve seen so many Na and Eu fans say that they’ve just stopped watching because they know the end result is gonna be the same Korea or china just take the win.

I'm not sure if there are actual numbers to prove this, but I highly doubt this was the case. It's been known for years that China contributes a large part of Worlds viewership and the Worlds viewer numbers were steadily growing even before 2018.

Thing is, that data only shows that there was a huge spike in LPL interest in 2018, which makes sense since it was the first time China won Worlds. I wasn't disputing the spike in interest after 2018, in fact I would be surprised if it wasn't the case.

I'm one of those players who watches worlds every year but only until the last NA and EU teams are eliminated. Once that happens I MIGHT watch the finals, but I'm more likely to just watch some highlights and get the cliffnotes on what happened after the fact. Even if NA and EU get demolished this year I'm sure I will watch worlds next year anyway, but only until all the western teams get eliminated again.

I don’t even watch NA or EU regular splits. I want to see quality league games and I’m not gonna see the best plays unless I watch LCK and LPL. That also makes me more in touch with who’s actually got a shot at upper bracket at worlds.

Same here. I watch nearly all of LCK live and then some LPL. I'm not overly interested in watching LCS (I am in the US) or LEC so much. The quality of play is lower and frankly the casting isn't anything to brag about aside from a few casters here and there. Also, LCK actually has high enough quality content between games that I watch it and enjoy it. LCS often seems to target an audience of pre-teens with their skits and activities.

Each to their days own, I completely understand people who love lpl cause it’s a blood bath. I pefer lck mainly cause of I find it more relaxing but can also have some lpl games ( any kt vs t1 series)

Last year was such a dissapointment, I really have zero expectations of any western team. Not even gonna meme around it, just don't care.

I personally stopped watching NA and EU games this year. Even the best teams aren’t super interesting save for some EU rivalry. The matches themselves also seem slower and more dull compared to LCK and LPL.

Problem is that I don’t feel like they went down kicking. They just qualify, go for a vacation, do some scrim then go home after play in/group stage/quarter. I haven't watched 2023 worlds and I already know the results for NA and EU regions; 1-3 losses all around. I won't be watching it to cheer neither region but to watch good players play league.

Its always been this wide. We havent won since 2011 except once with G2. Even at Korea and China's weakest, Europe still barely won once with their best team ever. It will never shrink. Europe has always been the historic # 3 reigon. I've been arguing it since 2014 and idiots who thought eu was better or just as good as china back then.

EU has never been the best, but the gap between them and KR/CN has clearly changed over the years. If you think RGE last year was just as close to win worlds as G2 in 2019 you are a complete idiot who can't comprehend anything but win = good team, lose = bad team. And if you don't, then you can't in good faith argue the gap has always remained the same.

LPL and LCK are competitive enough with each other that I can keep watching and be entertained with those two regions. However, I definitely don't have any expectations right now that the west can be competitive. I remember watching C9 at this year's MSI and watching their matches against LPL and it just looked so sad.

Yeah, the better NA does the more excited I get. At this point I usually just assume that play-ins is gonna be the fun part. I still like the rest of it and the later stages obviously have more weight to them, but getting 3-0'd isn't exactly my favourite viewing experience.

Hell no, I'll always root for NA and NA loves EU. Even if they get pummeled I'm still watching worlds, its an exciting venue and the anticipation every year gets me and my friends hyped to watch it, regardless of knowing our teams will get slam dunked.

Yeah idk man. I root for my football team and I'm happy we are #1 in our national tournament. Can we take man city or real madrid? Never. Does it make me less excited about them? Not at all. Just look at the CBLOL which is a reflection of this. People are still excited about it even when BR teams have failed in the past at worlds.

What made me completely uninterested in NA league is the fact that on paper, we should be a super region. We have more players than Korea, spend way more money, and regularly import world champions. Despite that, international tournaments have been more of a stomp each passing year since 2018. We have nothing to fall back on the way a small country could. We have no excuses we're just bad. There's nothing to root for.

NA has more League of Legends players overall iirc, but less ranked players by a lot. As you said most players here are super casual.

不论是北美还是欧洲，国内竞争从来都没好起来过。看见我们的所有队伍都输在世界赛上固然很难过，但说实话，难道不是一直这样吗？那些盼着西方有机会拿下的人，都困在2018-2020年的辉煌时刻了。

2015 was a decent year as well, with TSM winning IEM S9 (often forgotten, but complete legit, hyped and important international tournament back then) and Fnatic taking SKT to 5 games at MSI and having a decent Worlds run.
2015年其实也挺不错的，TSM赢了IEM S9（经常被忘掉，但当时也是完全官方、备受期待并且十分重要的国际赛事），并且Fnatic在MSI也把SKT打到了第五局，世界赛打的也不错。
并且你不能说2018、2019赛季只有Fnatic和G2这两支队伍厉害。C9也三比零过韩国队，TL打败了IG，Vitality在小组赛2:0了GenG。那时候的西方队伍整体上都是可以与东方打平的。

说实话就算在2020年我们也有TES打Fnatic的比赛，以及G2碾压GenG的比赛。
