A US company is offering to preserve corpses for the day when medical science can come up with ways to bring the dead back to life. Arizona-based Alcor Life Extension Foundation says it had 1,393 paying members as of October 14, 2022. The company says its cryopreservation techniques protect the cells of human and pet remains they hold. Their fees for preserving a full body start at around US$200,000.

This is so cool to imagine it may work one day, but also terrifying, and sad. That person may wake up to the fact that everyone they knew is long dead.

According to my mom when I came back home I was never the same again. I became extremely antisocial, I was always irritated, I started thinking people were out to get me, and started becoming extremely obsessed with particular topics. Instead of playing with other kids I spent my hours pacing in the same spot in my backyard imaging myself as the leader of a one world government with spacefaring and terraforming capabilities.

What scares me the most is that they said, "clinically dead" patient. What if you are not dead dead, yet trapped in those ice for centuries. Probably I just watched too much near death experiences stories from people who've been declared as clinically dead but not dead.
