I had to learn this over time. Weed is amazing for me, it gets rid of anxiety and never takes my mind to thoughts I do not want, in fact it takes my mind away from those! But I learned it is not the same for everyone, some people get way more anxious, or it causes the bad thoughts to happen. I stopped suggesting it to people after one of my friends absolutely hated it and it freaked him out, he was and is totally fine, weed was just not for him.

I’m sorry to hear that. I have a question, but I don’t know if it’s true or not. I’ve heard that the 1st heroin high is incredible. Like a blissful, “infant in a mothers womb” type comfort, then after that, you keep chasing the same high as the 1st without ever attaining it, and then progresses and degenerates to just taking it so you don’t feel sick throughout the day. Is this true at all, or have I just read a bunch of lies?

Used to sometimes hear the term "chasing the dragon" for that

It originally came from putting heroin or opium (and sometimes other drugs) on a piece of aluminum foil and the user would heat the underside of the foil with a lighter and inhale the vapors, usually through a tube of some kind. My uncle took an OD of heroin and died when I was 13 and it changed my life forever. I vowed to never touch heroin ever no matter what. I can see back in the 90s why people did it as they didn’t know anything about it but anyone who tries it nowadays has a death wish IMO

To scam someone. I don’t know how some of these people can sleep at night. An elderly neighbor recently got scammed of supposedly a car sale that doesn’t exist. She tried to email them and begged for her money back but of course they’re long gone. It’s heartbreaking to witness it.

Was really sad to watch especially because their family has been through so much (my friend had multiple brain tumors removed and her mom had recently just battled breast cancer). It was a hoax, as she later found out by contacting the medical company to make sure they got the payment…. there was no record of the payment and no record of a $40k outstanding bill. They never saw that money again.

Drink alcohol. Watched it ruin the lives of too many people. My dad drank a couple dozen beers a day and died of liver failure in his mid-50s, his mother drank herself into brain damage and spent most of her life in a nursing home, my sister struggled with being a violent alcoholic for almost two full decades before finally getting sober... it's hard to want anything to do with it after seeing all of that.
