Makes me think of how much privilege I have as an Indigenous person that grew up poor in America. I am learning to break this colonial mindset.

well said, and very eloquant speaker, i bumped into a video of Vijay Prashad a couple of years ago or perhaps more I don't remember. But I remember how he made sense with a lot of what he said then and on that video as well. Why should we forget the past and think that westerners care about what we* are going through? It really doesn't make sense. if a guy stole from me once, i wont be dealing with that guy ever. Why should we believe what they say. Ask the Iraqis . the Pakistanis , yemenis, Syrian, Libyan, Afghan, Viet about the western nations. Just last week, I saw a 10 second news where they admit having killed three children in Afghanistan, that's all i heard. No other media big or small covered the story. I think its time the east come together.

Why does the United States spend trillions of dollars every year to maintain his various hegemonies? It is because the various hegemonies can harvest the value created by all human beings around the world, and they have colonized the world through these hegemonies.
When the financial crisis broke out in the United States, the act of printing money like crazy is making all human beings around the world pay for the crisis in the United States. When there are other countries that want to challenge the financial hegemony of the US, he will use military hegemony to bring other countries to their knees. Very true. Most of human history is all about small and big kingdoms conquering or being conquered, right within the Indian subcontinent, and across the globe. No nation now is going to entertain the kind of claims that this guy is making. Invaders from middle east and Mongolia have raided and looted Indian kingdoms before the British arrived. Good luck with going to the current generation in those regions asking for money. We got independence more than 70 years back. Germany and Japan were almost destroyed around the same time, Israel didn't even exist, and look at where they are today. China is another great example, they were a 3rd world country just like us just 2 decades back. I get it, West is our enemy, we must compete and win, instead of expecting them to give us money. Our leaders shifting blame elsewhere is so disappointing, because people that keep blaming past injustices for their current failing do so because they know they are never going to succeed in future as well.

@Chandraashekhar Patil You do have a point, but the British were a spent force post world war II and had accumulated huge debts to fund their war efforts. They did not have the resources to spare to counter the growing Non-cooperation and other Independence movements and pressures in India effectively. Plus the INA had already attacked the British & had inspired the Royal Indian Navy mutiny etc & various groups in India were threatening more potential armed resistance, and it was feared that INA men could be used by the INC(then govt.) to train personnel against the British. The British also needed to funnel all their monetary resources into debt servicing & rebuilding their homeland post WWII & thus strategically decided to withdraw sooner rather than later at which point they may actually have been 'kicked' out & thus wanted to avoid any humiliation while exiting their so-far subservient 'colony' that they had truly & comprehensively controlled for centuries prior. Point being that they did leave partly of their own accord- but only because they had no surplus resources left for the effort abroad & did not want to risk the humiliation of losing potential armed conflicts in the future within the country. In comparison the US army left Afghanistan not because of the lack of resources, personnel and the near future potential incapability to effectively quell/suppress uprisings by the Taliban and other Afghani's against their military- but because the US intends to conserve their military expenditure, equipment & personnel & prepare to re-direct/re-align their military resources in other war theatre's primarily in Asia and Europe such as the South China Sea etc.
