The problem is that, as human beings, we tend to think in absolutes. For example, a project that starts solely with foreign investors to then ban them is not the way to go. Think of the details before the project is given the okay and allow only a certain percentage of foreign investors who can own property there. If they won’t use it for personal use then tax them at higher rates. You can definitely work around it and prioritize your own citizens before foreign investors. Just a thought…

I was born and raised in Hawaii for over 20 years and the H3 is super important for travel on Oahu. The biggest thing to note in any maybe future video you make about this, is that if the H3 wasn’t there, you’d have to add at least 30 minutes to your travel time because you’ll have to go around the mountain. The more you know! A good pointless project to focus on would be the Honolulu Rail that has been under construction. Talk about waste of money for the actual amount of cars it’ll keep off of freeways.

Honestly the h3 is extremely useful and it’s packed with use every single day. Some of the stuff said was true and some was absolutely false. The H3 was very expensive but is nothing compared to our rail. It’s at 13 billion so far and is predicted to be quite a bit more when done. It was suppose to only be 6 billion but has gone up in cost and the completion date pushed back every year. It’s nothing but a scam to put money in our politicians pockets. Hawaii is corrupt as hell. 6 of the 8 votes that passed the project were found to be gotten from bribes but since they were already 200 million into the project and had already secured federal funding they said they could not stop and kept going. It’s not even supporting a load yet and has had to have several repairs and overhauls already… When finished I’m willing to bet it collapses and causes a massive disaster. Welcome to Oahu

The H-3 in Hawaii is neither abandoned nor useless. I lived on Oahu for six years and used the H-3 a great many times. It is the ONLY way across the middle of the island. I love how the Nevada project got politicized and was shut down… now there’s $17 billion invested there and still no solution to what was a mounting nuclear waste problem, unless they somehow chose and constructed another site and have used that one effectively to mitigate the problem… Sorry Nevada, it’s exactly your population and remote areas that were chosen for this. The only concern I would have had is the water flowing from the mountain to the natives, all the other points from the opposition weren’t well founded. I wouldn’t be surprised if the water situation was studied beforehand, but the opponents seized the possibility of poor studies to fast track the project’s shutdown. Trust me, they didn’t drop $17 billion on nuclear waste disposal without doing an EXTENSIVE amount of planning and research.

Forest City is what happens when you think you can rely on your own citizens. Malaysians couldn't afford those apartments/condos so they offer it to the Chinese. The citizens get outraged by it so they ban foreigners from being able to live in those spaces. Foreign investment backs out and citizens also don't want anything to do with it leaving Forest City falling into its own disarray.

Not proud of it, just saying that 50M is nowhere close being the most expensive kilometer.
