I'm from Bradford, whre people are obviously very used to people from many ethnic backgrounds. My partner worked a contract in Carlisle for a while and some Asian friends visited. Carlisle itself wasn't a problem but the twon close by where she lived there were literal stop in the street to stare moments and it happend two or three times in the space of five minutes.
Nobody said anything but it was very uncomfortable for me. She said it was okay and she was used to it but I could tell she was trying to calm me rather than telling the truth.

I think this is great advice. Cultural shock can be a real thing, and whilst it's important to stay open and receptive, seeking some familiarity and advice from british-bangladeshis will definitely help you settle! Speaking as a Londoner who has moved abroad twice, it can help you adjust into a new city. But I'm also sure OP will make some nice British pals who'll show them the best place for a pint after work.

I now live in Luxembourg. Here I made a friend who moved from Asia to London before moving to Luxembourg. He was in London for 3 years and said how lonely his time was in London. It was only then I realised that Brits have their own lives, so it's super difficult to "infiltrate" us. We are not being mean, simply we don't consider that expats might be lonely.
Therefore, I'd suggest you join various expat groups on MeetUp or Facebook, so you can build a social circle. Or find an interest group on either website - country walks; historic tours; dungeons and dragons - whatever.
Be prepared for "office banter" at work, which is where people make fun of you in a kind way. It's to build bonds. Don't confuse this with aggression though, if anyone gives you any racist shit, tell them to fuck off.
If something offends you, calmly tell that person and explain why. You'll usually get an apology immediately. Brits don't tend to "talk through" what's upset them. So, be prepared to receive an apology and discuss no further.
When you arrive, accept that London is not Bangladesh. It's normal to compare how stuff works compared to our home countries, but try not to see if it's more positive or negative. Simply acknowledge it as a difference and move on. This reduces frustration ("oh, in Bangladesh, we do X, but in London, they do Y". Avoid thinking one is better than the other).

Surprised to hear the lonely part. I’m from London but moved to Vancouver for a while a few years and couldn’t believe how hard it was to make friends compared to London. In London I had loads of work mates who would go for drinks after work, some of them are now my closest friends. Im not sure what you do but for alot of companies (especially in tech) they wont give you a step by step on what or how your tasks are done but will expect you to either know how to do it or raise any concerns you have (alot of tech management here arnt really techie)
If they are asking your opinion on something gnenerally they want your opinion not just confirmation and youll find work alot less stressful if you raise concerns upfront

You're arriving at the start of Autumn so expect some really chilly early mornings. And the clocks 'go back' as British Summer Time ends at the end of October so it gets dark very early. Late afternoon feels like the middle of the night. However, Autumn is a beautiful season here and winter is usually mild in the south, with Spring, glorious Spring to look forward to. I hope you have a great job with good colleagues and settle in really quickly.

If you are moving to London know that everything- rent, food, entertainment - is going to be hugely expensive. Do lots of research on your living costs. Coming from Bangladesh the salary may look incredible, but you’ll be surprised how fast it disappears. If your family expect money to be sent home you’ll need to budget very carefully.

Respect people, always be polite and just generally leave people alone - everyone does it.
While on public transport people don’t: Burp, fart, listen to music out loud, or have a loud phone conversation. People expect a level of quiet while travelling.
Always say sorry to everyone, even if you haven’t done anything wrong! Need to push past someone? say sorry. Someone doesn’t notice it’s their turn in the queue? Tap their shoulder, point and say sorry. Need a waiter’s attention? Raise you hand and say ‘Sorry, could I….’
Rent is really expensive, best places to look to begin with would be Spare room?
The tube map is a little confusing - especially the Northern Line. Take some time just to try memorise it, but I expect you’ll learn it pretty quickly using it. The signs are reasonably easy, always feel free to ask for help but don’t forget to say ‘Sorry’ for disturbing someone before you ask for directions (most Londoners will help you if you ask them, but they will leave you alone even if you look lost).

I spoke to a fellow from India at work once and he was baffled by English people’s attitude to work/life balance. Basically his complaint was, or what he found strange, is that often after finishing work we’ll just go home and that’ll be that until the weekend, and often we won’t do anything even then. Now it could just be my job (I work on the railway) but speaking for myself that is absolutely accurate, I never go anywhere except work and home, and I’ll very very rarely go out with my mates. My only advice would be don’t feel like people don’t like you if you offer a night out and they decline. 9 times out of 10 they just want to go home and have a cup of tea.
