Laurel Hubbard made history on August 2, 2021, by becoming the first openly transgender weightlifter to take part in the Olympic Games. The New Zealander competed in the women’s +87kg category at the Tokyo Games, but made a sudden exit after failing to record a lift. Born male but transitioned to female in her 30s, Hubbard was allowed to compete in the women’s event by a 2015 International Olympic Committee (IOC) consensus.

Personally I fully support transgenders but I can't help but wonder about the unfair advantages that they might have in sport competitions... Unless we decide to entirely get rid of the women/men categories I think it's unfair to let a Male-to-Female transgender compete against "natural" women, on the other hand I think that it would be in most cases acceptable to let Female-to-Male athletes compete with "natural" males as in those cases it's the transgender who would have the handicap and so if he still decides to partecipate it would be his choice and it would burden only himself.

Second, most people in here are thinking based on logic and Biology. I can confirm since I learn Biology as well. So don't try to use 'transphobe' card to justify that trans should be able to compete in the Olympics (Eg : Transwomen competes in women's category) because based on Biology, the trans can have such an advantage compared to other athletes. The events are split into men and women's category for some reason! So don't go around saying the term like a trendy buzzword and shove down our throats without thinking thoroughly. It only shows that you are being selfish because you never think how the athletes who are born in their own gender groups work hard for the competition and you trivialised their struggles and sacrifices they made to be able to compete at Olympics.
But it doesn't mean (Idk what kind of pronouns I should use now. RIP English grammar and English is just my second language) should have ended her carrier. Maybe a competition among trans people can solve it? Then they will have a fair competition.

They don’t want their own division, they want “inclusion” which will always come at the expense of women’s rights and spaces. I’m sure they could get their own division/toilets/safe spaces if that’s what they really wanted. But they just want to take over the pre-existing spaces that others fought for.

I support transgender right, but it wasn't a fair competition, a natural born man bone structure is not the same as a woman, a "man" can lift heavier weight than a woman in general! "She" had total advantage over other natural born woman with the same training.

So I'm not sure if it's giving her more benefits or not when it comes to weight-lifting.
