Ancient Love Poetry follows Shang Gu, once a leader of the four immortals, who falls into a deep sleep after sacrificing herself in a trial that lasted 60,000 years. Shang Gu wakes up many years later, and memories of what happened 300 years ago were completely wiped. But her former lover, Bai Jue, never forgot about her. Sacrificing his reincarnation for her life, he waited for her for 60,000 years. Even when his soul disappears, Shang Gu will wait for him forever.

In ep41 preview when gujun calls Houchi as shang gu, Bai ju's facial expressions looked like he was surprised and shocked. So did he know that houchi is shang gu or he forgot that he was boxuan?? what the hell is happening??
在41集预告里面，当古君喊后池为上古的时候，白玦的表情看上去很惊讶，很震惊。所以他知道后池就是上古吗，还是他忘记自己曾是伯玄了?? 到底是怎么回事啊??
I was confused with the preview also. I thought Bai Ju and Gu Jun was in it together.... unless Bai Ju never intend for Shang Gu to wake up/ take over Houchi?
我之前看预告也很困惑。我原来以为白玦和古君是一伙的...除非白玦从来没打算唤醒上古，让她变回后池?
Bai Jue knows Hou Chi is Shang Gu, but Shang Gu waking up early was not part of his plan, because if Shang Gu wakes up, then it will be harder for him to keep this from her, since if she found out what happened in the past, she will take up the responsibility to sacrifice herself again, and that's not what Bai Jue wants.
白玦知道后池就是上古，但是上古提早觉醒并不是他计划的一部分，因为上古一旦觉醒，他就很难让上古不去履行作为主神的义务。因为如果她发现过去发生了什么，她就会重新承担起牺牲自己的任务，这一点是白玦不想看到的。
这就是他为什么(作为伯玄的时候)封印她的神识，让她变成后池了。但同时又给了她手链，在需要的时候保护她，他这种保护她的方式是为了让她远离她原本的宿命。
还记得之前白玦不知道整个真相的时候吗，她开启了上古的神识，还用心培养她，但是他也不可避免的将她推入了以身献祭的命运(这是他最后悔的事)。所以，尽早将后池变成上古不是他的计划，因为他还没有完成他计划的事情。
也许未来她会觉醒为上古，而他预感到这是早晚的事，但不是现在，而是要等他完成自己的计划后。
白玦并没有失去他的记忆，他知道他就是伯玄，当他是青木的时候他也有一些记忆。他说他不记得，其实是在撒谎。对他来说，最好是跟后池保持距离，而不是陪伴后池。他说"你很像她，但你不是她" 到对后池说 "六万年许多事情都改变了，包括我对你的感觉"。 我想在这个情节中，这两个人都很受伤，但后者更受伤，因为比起将她推开，他更不想去伤害她。

It wasn't part of the plan that Qing Mu and Hou Chi get marry either, thats why Gu Jun was so against it at the beginning, because he knows what Bai Jue wants to do, and he knows that Qing Mu is Bai Jue, so when he accepts the marriage between them, it 1) Goes against the plan they have set and 2) Ultimately it will end up hurting Houchi / Shang Gu, because he knows Bai Jue will distance himself when he's awakened and he was right.

Can't wait for Thursday to come through! If you're looking for tragic love drama (typical in xianxia drama), this is it. The drama definitely not in my top 3 xianxia drama, but it definitely well made and high budget lol. The FL's character is funny and witty too

I have a confusion and hope someone can clear it up. Does the bai ju that we get post Qing mu know that houchi is shanggu or he just think she's someone who only looks like her coz you can't sense any power of shanggu on her. I mean this ofcourse before gu jun reveals she is indeed shanggu as seen from preview for ep 41

Baijue knows literally everything about what's going on. He himself started all of this, so he knows everything about Shanggu/Houchi.

In preview bai ju is also shocked by the fact that houchan is shanggu. did they try to decieve us on episode preview ?

One thing we all need to remember is that all are part of Bai Jue's plan. Bai Jue saved Shang Gu and transformed into Houchi, of course he knows everything. Bai Jue also created another version of himself which is Qing Mu.

Yes knew all that but ep 39 preview where he tells houchi "you look like her, but you are not her" had me wanting to just make sure that it was him pretending not to be aware of her being shanggu and not him actually having some memory loss of not knowing that.

He's pretending and is an act to push her away, because he wanted the memory she shared with Qing Mu to remain a sweet memory for her that she can one day look back to. He remembers everything that happened when he was Qing Mu, but he's hiding the fact that he remembers, and is using this memory loss as a way to push her away so she won't get hurt later when he's gone, his ultimate goal is to protect her/save her from this whole tribulation by taking her place to do it instead, so she won't go through the same heart break he felt when he witnessed 60 000 years ago when she sacrificed herself.
他假装是因为他想把她推开，因为他想让她与青木在一起的回忆能保持甜蜜，有一天她可以去回忆。他记得当他是青木时经历的每一件事，但是他隐藏了他的记忆，用失忆的方法把她推开，这样以后她就不会受伤了。他的目的是通过他自己替她受劫难来保护他，这样她就不会再经历一遍6万年前她牺牲自己时的那种心痛了。

Episodes 31-38 are now available in Chinese only for episode-by-episode purchase on Chinese tencent site. This is so called vvip. Tencent haven't developed the same option for international users on Wetv, so we will have episodes 31-32 with subs on Thursday, and so on - two episodes per day till Sunday, when we get to watch 37-38.
Chinese users will get another vvip episodes 39-46 on Sunday, while we will watch them next week with subs.
