The Rafale is powered by two M88-2 engines from SNECMA, each providing a thrust of 75kN. The aircraft is equipped for buddy-buddy refuelling with a flight refuelling hose reel and drogue pack. The first M88 engine was delivered in 1996. It is a twin-shaft bypass turbofan engine principally suitable for low-altitude penetration and high-altitude interception missions.

The Dassault Rafale is a relatively small, light airplane. Its combat radius is also impressive – 1,852 kilometers, the second-best in the market trailing only the F-15C/D. The Rafale also has an excellent rate of climb – 304 m/s.

Dassault Rafale got more contracts when it won the competition of Indian Airforce, but negotiations took long and Indian order was done in late 2016, hence Egypt and Qatar got their planes first plus it has 8 India specific enhancements. I think Rafale will come out as a winner in Indian Airforce another competition where 112 will be fighters will be Made in India.

This is the aircraft that nearly beat the F-35 in the Dutch tender. It's lack of stealth was the only reason it lost out. But as i understand the F-4 version will have increased stealth beating the Su 57 in it's RCS. It already has limited stealth something that is quite an achievement when an aircraft has canards and a testament to it's tooling standard.

I'm surprised about the negative G limit being 3.6 compared to the positive 9 G, this would mean technically as an example a negative loop, pushing stick forward as apposed to back, the plane would disintegrate way before the limit of the pilot blacking out!!!=/ I like the green camouflage as most planes seem to match the almost permanent grey sky that seems to now be the normal colour???:)
