When states certified the counts and elect the reps for the electoral college, then you will know. CNN, fox etc dont pick presidents.
There is even a case where if it is not offically decided by january, it goes to supreme court and they let reps pick and Trump has a high chance of winning that. Thats in the constitution. Most people in the states dont actually know how our electorial process works. They just listen to TV news (which is biased to its core and has agendas).

You have been given false information. Each state's electors certify the vote sometime in the next month or so, the states appoint their electors, and the electoral college returns its vote, confirming the presidential winner.
The only individual state totals that result in recounts are if they are the only state determining the winner, and irregularities are shown to have occurred which may have affected the outcome. That happened with Bush v. Gore, and it went from there. This year, there are no actual irregularities and no evidence that any occurred, plus there is no single state that Trump will lose which would have impacted the outcome, or that was within the margin that results in a recount, except Georgia. I agree, it is reasonable for a federation. But it is not reasonable for the modern US, regardless of the legal definition. Secession is literally illegal, its not exactly voluntary cooperation anymore. Regardless, if the goal is to protect state's rights its failed miserably at that.

The electoral college is in large part a relic of slavery. The modern form comes from the 12th Amendment. At the time (1803-4), slavery was a big impediment for direct election.
The country had used the 3/5ths rule to determine the number of representatives each state got. The initial system for electing president had some technical issues that had been uncovered, so a rewrite was in order. At the time, southern states would have refused a direct election because so much of its population was slaves and unable to vote. (500k total.)
So the 12th Amendment in effect brought the system used to determine the number of representatives over to the presidential election. The sole reason for this was to get the South to agree to it given their slave population.
In the modern era we have no need for it. At best it's a relic of 1800s politics, at worst it's a subtle carry though of the 3/5ths rule. There is no reason why the presidential race couldn't be direct.

Don't worry, you're (unfortunately) not alone. Here in the Czech Republic, we have our own Trump. Our president is the gross populist, "totally healthy" and "stable genius" Trump, while our prime minister is the populist, corrupt businessman Trump. The main difference is that our president is drunk most of the time (I understand Trump is a teetotaler) and the prime minister's personal wealth is actually (as far as I know) in the positive numbers.

Don't worry, you're (unfortunately) not alone. Here in the Czech Republic, we have our own Trump. Our president is the gross populist, "totally healthy" and "stable genius" Trump, while our prime minister is the populist, corrupt businessman Trump. The main difference is that our president is drunk most of the time (I understand Trump is a teetotaler) and the prime minister's personal wealth is actually (as far as I know) in the positive numbers.
