What are we being asked now? To judge scenarios based on the colour of skin rather than the content of character. To address issues soley on skin colour rather then the content of the actual issues.

I can''t help but feel this is a natural reaction to the countless banners and slogans from BLM saying derogatory things about white people, while desecrating culturally important British monuments.
I think its slightly more interesting than this and ties into the "indignance machine" of social media and clickbait. You take a nugget of truth, say: that picture of the statue of Churchill with graffiti on it.
However instead of coldly reporting the story you write whatever you want, starting using the word traitor, imply that all protesters were defacing statues, imply all protesters needed to be charged by the cops on horseback. Take that single truth and project a much bigger and much more terrifying shadow.

Of course BLM are going to cause a stir in people who have never had to consider race as an everyday factor in their life, their socio-economic outcomes and social circles.
It feels like an attack on Britishness to some because we’re having to stare down the barrel of our history and come to terms with the fact that the Britain we think we love has been built upon centuries of discrimination. The entire British Empire was built upon slavery, exploitation of both natural and Human Resources abroad and the development of political science which promotes European quasi-Christian political theory as the gold standard to which other nations much be compared.
Look at Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol and London, all cities which can trace their huge wealth to the trade and exploitation of African labour in the West Indies, and places like Birmingham which exported thousands upon thousands of weapons to conflict zones destabilised by British presence. Living White Britons should not feel guilty because of this (anyone who promotes ‘white guilt’ is misled), but we should become more aware of the true reason Britain became a predominant global power. It’s not because we are smarter or more hardworking than everybody else, but because we had the technology to manufacture weapons like the Maxim gun, and huge ships to facilitate the oceanic trade of people and resources. When people are asked to address their history in this way, it will undoubtedly cause a knee jerk reaction because it feels like an attack on you and your heritage. However hard it may be, you need to take off the rose-tinted glasses our history is too often viewed through.
When you consider the everyday experiences of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) people, they exist in a country that purports to be equal, though daily experiences seem to confirm the opposite. Small barriers a White Briton might brush off as an annoying but ultimately harmless experiences (not getting a job, being harassed by police, facing abuse on the street) are only small when they are infrequent and far between. If you face these challenges on a regular basis, for seemingly no other reason than the colour of your skin, you are going to start understandably feeling like they are the result of a systemically racist system that we are all involved in, and only a few ultimately benefit from.
How often does a white person have to give themselves a nickname in school because teachers can’t pronounce their name? You might think that it’s unfair to expect the teacher to get their name right first time, if it’s a name they haven’t heard before, but imagine how damaging it must feel if over the course of a year a teacher doesn’t spend the time to learn how to pronounce something properly. Not learning somebody’s name an ultimate form of disrespect, and while it might seem like a humorous experience to observers, it may be just once piece in a much larger puzzle which leaves BAME people feel dejected by wider society and distrustful of authority.
The methods of Black Lives Matter are loud, they are challenging and they are in some cases disruptive. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO BE. Their very message is so fundamentally opposed to the cosy white ‘isn’t Britain so great! we have tea and spitfires’ mentality that it would be ignored if it could be. So the movement has to design its processes and methods to make sure it cannot be ignored. Any movement which seeks to challenge the status quo will undoubtedly raise a whole host of heckles, because the status quo only exists if the majority of people believe in it. This is why white Britons may feel challenged and scared by BLM. When you look past the movements (very justifiable) language and actions, you realise that they aren’t looking to wipe your history, they aren’t looking to destroy your local pub, they aren’t taking the fun out of football, they just want to live in a country where they aren’t constantly reminded that they are seen as dangerous, lazy or untrustworthy simply by virtue of the colour of their skin. To make this possible, they have to fundamentally challenge a whole host of assumptions and beliefs a majority of people hold. It’d do everyone a lot of good if we just stopped reacting blindly to perceived attacks on us as individuals, and realise it’s the system around us they are targeting.
TLDR: Of course BLM is divisive, it has to be. It challenges us to look at our history without rose-tinted glasses. Some may decry their rhetoric as inflammatory but they have use potentially divisive language and methods to ensure their message cannot be ignored.

Living White Britons should not feel guilty because of this (anyone who promotes ‘white guilt’ is misled), but we should become more aware of the true reason Britain became a predominant global power. It’s not because we are smarter or more hardworking than everybody else, but because we had the technology to manufacture weapons like the Maxim gun, and huge ships to facilitate the oceanic trade of people and resources. When people are asked to address their history in this way, it will undoubtedly cause a knee jerk reaction because it feels like an attack on you and your heritage. However hard it may be, you need to take off the rose-tinted glasses our history is too often viewed through.
When you consider the everyday experiences of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) people, they exist in a country that purports to be equal, though daily experiences seem to confirm the opposite. Small barriers a White Briton might brush off as an annoying but ultimately harmless experiences (not getting a job, being harassed by police, facing abuse on the street) are only small when they are infrequent and far between. If you face these challenges on a regular basis, for seemingly no other reason than the colour of your skin, you are going to start understandably feeling like they are the result of a systemically racist system that we are all involved in, and only a few ultimately benefit from.
How often does a white person have to give themselves a nickname in school because teachers can’t pronounce their name? You might think that it’s unfair to expect the teacher to get their name right first time, if it’s a name they haven’t heard before, but imagine how damaging it must feel if over the course of a year a teacher doesn’t spend the time to learn how to pronounce something properly. Not learning somebody’s name an ultimate form of disrespect, and while it might seem like a humorous experience to observers, it may be just once piece in a much larger puzzle which leaves BAME people feel dejected by wider society and distrustful of authority.
The methods of Black Lives Matter are loud, they are challenging and they are in some cases disruptive. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO BE. Their very message is so fundamentally opposed to the cosy white ‘isn’t Britain so great! we have tea and spitfires’ mentality that it would be ignored if it could be. So the movement has to design its processes and methods to make sure it cannot be ignored. Any movement which seeks to challenge the status quo will undoubtedly raise a whole host of heckles, because the status quo only exists if the majority of people believe in it. This is why white Britons may feel challenged and scared by BLM. When you look past the movements (very justifiable) language and actions, you realise that they aren’t looking to wipe your history, they aren’t looking to destroy your local pub, they aren’t taking the fun out of football, they just want to live in a country where they aren’t constantly reminded that they are seen as dangerous, lazy or untrustworthy simply by virtue of the colour of their skin. To make this possible, they have to fundamentally challenge a whole host of assumptions and beliefs a majority of people hold. It’d do everyone a lot of good if we just stopped reacting blindly to perceived attacks on us as individuals, and realise it’s the system around us they are targeting.
TLDR: Of course BLM is divisive, it has to be. It challenges us to look at our history without rose-tinted glasses. Some may decry their rhetoric as inflammatory but they have use potentially divisive language and methods to ensure their message cannot be ignored.

太长了,总结一下:“黑人的命也是命”当然是分裂性的,这是必然的。它向我们提出了不带着玫瑰色的眼镜来看待我们历史的挑战。有些人可能谴责他们的言论是煽动性的,但他们使用潜在的分裂性口号和方法,以确保他们的信息不会被无视。
