So many, literally, man! I completed a PhD in computer science in Singapore, and moved to China for a full-time job. Now, I have already been living in China for more than two years. I am confident that there are so many interesting facts about China.

1. Chinese language, Mandarin, is arguably the most difficult language to learn. According to a research by the US government, it requires 2200 class hours of studies to achieve a basic fluency in Mandarin. 700 hours for French and Spanish.

The only issue about living in China is language. As such, having at least a basic fluency in Mandarin Chinese would help a lot. When I came China, my Chinese level was effectively zero. Now I speak basic Chinese.

Bailong Elevator: It is also called hundred dragons elevator and is located in Wulingyuan scenic area in Zhangjiajie, which is one of the world’s natural heritage sites in China.

Bailong Elevator is very magnificent. The total height of it is 335 meters (1099 feet) of which the running height is 326 meters (1069 feet). 154 meters (505 feet) of the total height is in the mountain wells and rest 172 meters (564 feet) was composed of steel derrick and other components. The elevator includes three exposure sightseeing elevators running parallel. Each elevator can take 50 passenger every time and speed is 3 m/s (and has been accelerated to 5 m/s since 2013). The elevator was listed in the Guinness World Records, because it is honoured as “the highest, the fastest and the largest loaded elevator in the world.”

Moreover, FedEx is engaged in transporting the pandas from China to the countries who demand them. Pandas are transported in their own white enclosures with holes and the cages have been put in their natural habitats so they can get used to them before the long journey.
