This bus shelter will keep you warm, butonly if you hold hands with your fellow passengers

In a time when we're more connected toothers than ever before, thanks to the internet and social media, all to oftenwe're much more in touch with people across the country or on the other side ofthe world than the people that are right next to us.
It's a sad fact of modern life that we'remore likely to be staring at our phones than making eye contact or talking toor smiling at our fellow humans in 'real life', and that we don't seem to makemuch of an effort anymore to really connect with people, especially those wearen't already friends with.

But what if you had to connect with otherpeople, and to physically touch each other, in order to work together for acommon goal?
That's the idea behind this socialexperiment in Montreal, courtesy of Duracell, where in order to turn theheaters on in a bus shelter, the commuters waiting there were had to use theirbodies to connect a circuit and get warm.

With a positive contact on one side of theshelter, and a negative contact on the other, and too far of a space betweenthem for a single person to complete the circuit, the only way to connect themto each other was to hold hands and create a human-to-human chain.
